(Sculptra®, Radiesse® & Collagen Stimulators)

Aftercare & Post-Treatment Guidelines

What to Expect

  • Mild swelling, redness, or bruising at injection sites (improves in a few days).
  • Temporary fullness that fades as initial swelling resolves — true results appear gradually over weeks to months as new collagen forms.
  • Multiple sessions are often required for optimal results.

DO

  • Massage 5-5-5 Rule: Massage the treated areas 5 minutes, 5 times a day, for 5 days (unless your provider instructs otherwise).
  • Apply a cold compress (wrapped, gentle) for short intervals within the first 24 hours.
  • Sleep with head elevated the first 1–2 nights.
  • Stay hydrated and use a gentle, fragrance-free moisturizer.
  • Apply SPF 30+ daily.

DON'T

  • Avoid strenuous exercise, saunas, steam rooms, or hot yoga for 24 hours.
  • Do not rub or press the area beyond the instructed massage technique.
  • Skip alcohol and smoking for 24 hours.
  • Avoid dental work, vaccines, or facial treatments for 1–2 weeks.
  • No harsh actives (retinoids, acids, scrubs, benzoyl peroxide) for 5–7 days.

Makeup

Safe after 12–24 hours, once injection points are fully closed.

Nutrition for Collagen Support

Protein

Essential building block. Include lean meat, fish, eggs, tofu, beans, or protein shakes daily.

Vitamin C

Critical "co-factor" for collagen synthesis. Eat citrus fruits, berries, kiwi, bell peppers, or take a supplement if needed.

Zinc & Copper

Support collagen cross-linking. Found in nuts, seeds, shellfish, and whole grains.

Omega-3 fatty acids

Help control inflammation and support healing. Found in fish oil, salmon, flaxseed, walnuts.
